Toontown What's New Blog
After our recent Trolley Games Challenge, we heard from quite a few Toons that the Toon Memory game can be downright frustrating.
Many Toons find it confusing when other players are turning over cards all at the same time - or they are not sure why they can’t flip over a card themselves.
Once four Toons get playing at the same time, it can quickly make for memory madness!
We want all Trolley games to be as jolly and fun as possible, so let us know what YOU think about playing Toon Memory:

I know this sounds like i'm a cog, but I don't think Toon Memory is...well...fun. Many Toons keep jumping on 2- 4 player mode, which you need help from them to make a sucsessful play. Also, it's not fun and doesn't give as much jellybeans as other games, and other toons I know don't like it. This is just my opinion. Either way, Toons of the World Unite!

I kind of like it. Sure, when I first came to Toontown it was a little frustrating to me. But now, since I've been on Toontown for a pretty long time, I guess its pretty good. But it's never fun to play alone :D

I think it might be easiest to play as a single player game. Mostly I think it's only difficult because players don't understand how to play.. Because running around the room flipping cards randomly is not the way to win. No one seems to have the patience to play correctly.

While I'm not particularly fond of the Toon Memory game in general, I'm fine with it staying multiplayer. Although it might take a few plays through for new toons to figure out a good strategy for working with others, I find the game is faster with at least two players these days-- have one toon select a single card, and have the second run along the rows in search of the match (madly flipping the cards seems to be the most efficient way surprisingly). So I would honestly like it to stay as both multiplayer and single player.

The Toon Memory Game was not a bad trolley game, I used to have a hard time flipping the cards on a different computer. I had to hold the FN key and press delete key in order to flip the card. It isn't really a bad Trolley Game I just gotta get used to it. Its fine to keep it as a multiplayer Trolley Game. Thats all I have to say about this. Thanks.

I think the memory game should go solo. Multi-player has too many downfalls. Toons without chat just run around randomly pressing stuff. Plus half of them don't even know what button to flip the card with. I dislike how this game's results are based on your partner's cooperation and not your own.

Oh, please keep the game the way it has been! I couldn't imagine a more difficult single-player game. Since the game is quite fun, we usually just goof off while playing it. Friends are very valuable, and this game helps keep us together.

I think it would be easier as a single player game! That way when you have more than one person, you don't get extra cards flipped because you don't understand where the other cards are! I enjoy this game when I am playing it alone, instead of being confused when I am playing it with two or more people!

Leave it the way it is. What I do (and most other toons probably do this too) is just rapidly hit the Delete key so you randomly flip some cards. The game works fine and should be left alone.

honestly i do not like the game very much. It can be fun when other toons are with you but if your alone it gets really hard. I think it would be better if you hit the control key and not the delete key. This is because most toons get confused and hit control witch does nothing and the fact that i have friends that don't have a delete key.

I love the Memory game. I would have to say of all the trolley games, it is my all time favorite. But I must admit that I prefer to play it by myself because sometimes other toons don't know how to really play the game. I would vote that it should be limited to a single player game.

I never liked the memory game in fact its one of my least favorite games to play on the trolley. Especially with players who didn't know how to play or didn't have the delete button. It would probably be best if you just got rid of it or just made it into a single player game instead of leaving it as it is. Thanks for the update to the trolley games! :)

I think that Toon Memory is really annoying when playing by yourself. Every time I go on the trolley by myself I hope I don't get that game because it takes a really long time to play it. Although it is long, it is a whole lot quicker with other people playing. I say there should be at least two people because you can just flip over the cards randomly which makes the pairs come a lot faster. Toon Memory is one of my favorite single player games. As a group game it can be frustrating because the other player may not know how to turn cards over, which means waiting around for time to run out, and it can be difficult to communicate to others when matching cards have been discovered by an individual.

As a single player game I found it a a little bit tricky do it on my own, and I found it a little boring after a while. But when I play it with 3+ toons I find it Really Toontastic! Hmmmm... Well, I do get frustrated a lot playing with others, most of the time they don't know what to do and you can't score any points. If you're playing alone you can, but if the others know what to do it's easier. Maybe, if all toons on multiplayer can flip not one but TWO cards at a time, you could score points even if others can't! Also, if they don't remember how to flip the cards, a reminder could pop up! I'm glad the game is getting a toon-up, stay happy Toontown!

This game in my opinion is not very entertaining. However a perfect game's reward is more than enough jellybeans. I find it easy when i am alone on the trolley, but with others, people just stall time and don't try. I would consider taking the game out.

Toon Memory game should either turn single player, or have a huge message showing which key to press in order to flip cards, or simply swap Ctrl with Delete. Many players find it confusing, it's also frustrating when your trolley teammate(s) can't play it with you.

I'm not too sure about the memory game.. It's very frustrating when you have a chatless player with you, and then they don't read the instructions. While I'm just like " DELETE! PRESS DELETE! " they just see " Meow meow mew " It reallys frustrates me because when we are with other players, we can't turn two cards over by ourselves, the other player has to do it. I think the toon memory is a good game in general, and is made to be fun, but since some toons that aren't experienced or haven't played it much or just don't pay attention, don't help, so if the other toons doesen't do anything you can't get jellybeans so in that way it's unfair. Toontown, i think the game is somewhat boring and when it is multiplayer the people are always flipping random cards and not always working together to get a perfect score. This helps me with matching but i want to see this game less. Because sometimes im not in the mood for it and i sometimes skip the game. Though I still want the game to stick around, it should be made less frustrating when playing with others. It's fun playing by yourself (as long as you know how to flip the cards) or with one other who knows how the teamwork aspect works. But usually everyone runs through just flipping cards, and no strategy. Thanks, TOONTOWN!

I've been with toontown since they first started the match game and I wouldn't mind if it went. It is frustrating when someone else can't turn the cards and you just have to wait for the timer to run out. This would be a great opportunity to introduce a more fun, interactive game in its place. :)

It gets to confusing for some of us, and some people like myself when having the other toons with us dont even wanna deal with the " No that one, or no the other one! " we just end up randomly flipping all the cards till we get a match but single player can work more faster alone. And the result, more jellybeans for our banks :)!

I think toon memory is annoying. You have to flip over cards and it can be dependent on other people flipping over cards. I think it would be easier if you could unflip a card. Maybe even not call it toon memory. just have it be a symbol matching game. I also don't understand the point of showing number of flips. there are always going to be a lot more flips than finds especially when playing with other toons. showing the number of flips is distracting and makes me feel like im somehow playing the game wrong.
